Review of Home Alone 3 (1997) by Sylvester K — 28 Dec 2011
I have to admit that the slapstick gags in Home Alone 3 were the funniest in the whole series: with four villains trying to break in, it would have been disappointing if that wasn't the case. But that still didn't hide its apparent inferiority to the previous two offerings.
Its story line, though original, was in my view incoherent. I mean, come on: how hard can it be to run after a toy car and grab it? Such inconsistencies weren't there in its predecessors. However, having said that, the actors in it were hilariously superb: all the four villain actors played their parts with convincing comedy, and Alex D.
Linz wasn't such a bad replacement for Macaulay Culkin too. In all, although this is definitely not the best in the series, Home Alone 3 had the most laughable and hilarious gags and booby traps in the series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, in-spite of its derided lack of a coherent story line.
