I'm sorry, but this has nothing to do with the previous two movies! I guess the reason why they went with that direction is because Macaulay Culkin hit puberty (and his career went downhill with sub par or bad movies), but at least try to make this different direction good. I don't know what went wrong with John Hughes after he wrote and directed some good movies like Ferris Bueller's DayOff, The Breakfast Club, and the National Lampoon Vacation movies! It makes me wonder how did he end up with a bad streak of bad movies in the 90s?
About the movie itself, it's a bland family comedy with a bland kid character fending off the neighborhood against goofy and yet bland secret agents with unfunny jokes, boring slapstick, and an annoying parrot. But hey, at least this is the last movie in the Home Alone series.
