Review of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) by Cameron T — 29 Apr 2015
I have no idea why so many people have given this film a bad review, and why some people have even audaciously given the third film a better review! Maybe it's because I grew up in the 90s and so all of my friends and I love this film because it's due to a nostalgic factor, but I watch it now and think that despite its lack of reality (but it's a movie after all) it's hilarious, smart, and just enjoyable, with great music by John Williams.
Tim Curry is absolutely marvellous as the hapless concierge, and the film has a good mix of sincerity and hilarity. And Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern are geniuses. Who knew Pesci could do comedy so well after Goodfellas? Appreciate it for what it is people: a fine follow up to a great original film.
