Review of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) by John P — 30 Oct 2013
The first one is arguably a classic and made more money than the economies of many third world countries combined so of course a sequel was on board. Home Alone 2 suffers considerably from the "Oh no, not again" routine of basically being a cut and paste job from the first.
You get the same thing but in New York. Even as a kid I thought that was weak. Say goodbye to the Old Man neighbor and hello to the same character but as a Homeless Pigeon Lady. Cue up the sequel to Angels with Filthy Souls to do the same gag again.
Instead of having Michael Jordan moving as a cutout on a train along with mannequins we now have an inflatable Bozo in the shower. And guess who happens to be in New York? That's right. Home Alone 2 sucks but it could be way worse.
