The parents response was TERRIBLE!
And where was the media shame party? However the movie contained lots of subliminal advice for children if ever in a situation to deal with strangers.
1) turn lights on to make burglars think someone is home.
2) hide and hide well (now-a-days with a phone if possible.
3) don't ever let a stranger following you find out where you live.
Of course he should have just called the authorities in the first place but stellar stranger danger tips either way so stars for that.
