Home Alone is the movie that launched an entire decade worth of family films where kids beat up bafoon adults. Those films however were missing Home Alone's heart, laughs, John Hughes, John Williams' score and yes Chris Columbus.
As well as a John Candy appearance and of course Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the adult bafoons being out-smarted and beat up by a kid and his traps.
