Home Alone has some great slapstick humor. But the movie isn't good because Joe Pesci gets hit in the nuts and falls. It's good because of the major attention to detail and storytelling that Chris Columbus offers.
It's good because of the beautiful editing and framing to lend to visual humor. And the icing on the cake is a few of the best comedic performances of the 90s by Culkin, Pesci and Stern and some damn good writing by Hughes that adds humor and heart to make this ridiculous Christmas comedy a truly fun and well made film that's a must every holiday season.
