Review of Home Again (2017) by Karin R — 15 Sep 2017
This is definitely a "chick flick" and thank you Reese Witherspoon for making it. It was a pleasure to enjoy a movie without a car chase, a threatened child or whatever gratuitous sex or violence the director could throw in.
Home Again had light moments, beautiful scenery, great art in the background, a decent soundtrack and it was just a pleasure to watch. I think the critique that it lacks diversity is valid. There are plenty of affluent white people here - although the 3 young film makers are allegedly broke (though you'd really never know that).
I'm glad I didn't take my husband - and I am intrigued by the fact that the primary reviewers here are all male (imagine that). As a movie for women to simply enjoy on a friday night - well done.
