Review of Home (2017) by Robert M — 26 Aug 2015
Funny, cute, and fairly well touching. Not too terribly bad of a movie, but not too terribly great at the same time. If anything though, the movie was more than I expected. A lot of credit would have to go towards Jim Parsons.
He was pretty much the perfect pick for Oh, as his slight "Sheldon" style makes a big impact for Oh's personality. The animated feature is funny and clever enough, but it just doesn't seem to quite make as much of a stand overall (it almost rolls around to a "Space Chimps"-type feeling in some cases).
Maybe not quite a keeper, but most average joes in this century would most likely enjoy this enough (although no group of comedic and cute "aliens" will never quite overpopulate the Minions from Despicable Me).
It's just another different and fun animated film out there.
