The Good:

Gorgeous and detailed animation, with lush and vibrant colors. Nice accompaniment songs, utilizing its main cast's status as renowned pop singers. Using broken english as Boov's language makes for fun dialogues, when in real life it would've gotten annoying instead. Fun third arc with a decent touch of emotional impact.

The Not-so-Good:

The Boovs are meant to be cute and silly, much akin to Minions, yet they come of as boring and uninspiring in the final product. Pig the Cat is probably the one character that stays adorable throughout the movie. Thin and very predictable story, things feel like they just come as they go without any build up and everything is resolved very easily without any real climax to up the ante. While it starts to get interesting halfway, the first third of the movie feels very much like a drag, that it's really hard to keep focus. Impatient audience will have a hard time going through the start of the movie. With the exception of Jim Parson, the other voice cast sounds bland and emotionless most of the time, making it hard to empathize with their emotion. Likewise, only few of the jokes manage to hit the ground running, while most ends up 'trying' without any significant success.
