I don't know how some critics deemed this as a failure. It's fun and cute and a great family movie. (I do agree it's no How to Train Your Dragon 2 or King Fu Panda 2 which have an epic feel t them).

But Jim Parsons does a great job and I really liked him! At first I wasn't a huge fan of Rihanna, but warmed up to her after a few scenes. I wish they dove into the crazy alien technology and lifestyle.

That had so many avenues of comedy to explore. Still, a lot of fun and one of the few family films in theaters this summer for the little ones.
