Review of Holy Smoke (1921) by Sigrid R — 01 Jan 2008
Campion 'sharing her cinematic dreams' seems pretty accurate. Harvey K is a lovable old pit bull, and Kate W is like a golden samosa - with a good Aussie accent as well. Some fucked up shit in here, a bit puzzling/ mysterious and dreamlike.
But very funny and humane and sympathetic to the various characters; I liked the interesting depiction of the Aussies - a bit of affectionate parody.
