First of all, I have yet to see a movie with Kate Winslet that I dont enjoy. Winslet can convey emotions and create flawless characters very well, and each one of her characters are as interesting and different as the ones she had played before them.
Secondly, Jan Campion is a good director and OI loved her timeless romantic movie "The Piano".
In saying this, "Holy Smoke" was "GOOD". just good. It had a nice story. It was well acted. It didn't bore me even for a tiny millisecond. But, it just didn't pass the boundary between good and excellent. I don't know why's that, but it just didnt/ Not for me at least!
