Review of Holy Hell (2016) by David F — 04 Jul 2016
This documentary about a very discreet cult and its rather terrifying cult leader vividly explores the need to fit in and find meaning in life which is experienced by a small, tight-nit group of people who originally came together in that cradle of bent religious sentiment--Southern California.
The film was made by an eyewitness, the semi-official videographer of the group which called itself The Buddha Field, and he is able to incorporate his film work on behalf of the group's mysterious leader into this documentary which presents that leader in a light completely different from the way it was originally intended.
