I laughed for most of the movie. I thought the jokes were funny throughout, and I am genuinely puzzled by the critical response. Perhaps people don't get jokes about Victorians or see the ridiculousness of Sherlock Holmes stories (and I have read them all and seen many of the films and shows).

I loved a spoof of Sherlock and the jokes about ridiculous science beliefs (i.e. past damaging and incorrect beliefs about sex or women's health). Someone in our theater audience clapped at the end, and many of us stayed for the credits.

So, I don't know who is walking out...
