Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by August C — 09 Apr 2011
"Hollywoodland" is a film that talks about Hollywood and exploitation. The mystery is dense but smoothly evolving. Adrien Brody is excellent and the supporting cast (Diane Lane, Bob Hoskins and a guy that resembles Martin Scorsese) is majestic.
"Hollywoodland" didn't try to be breathtaking - it is rather subtle, actually - but is hugely engaging.
