Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by Tristan P — 14 Jun 2008
Nicely acted, especially by Adrien Brody, but also by Ben Affleck, who manages to make George Reeves properly histrionic without crossing the line into parody. I'd go so far as to say that he deserved an Oscar nomination for this (hey, if Jamie Foxx got one for doing a Ray Charles impression...). The scene where the little kid asks Reeves if he can shoot him is a standout.
Works well because it doesn't pretend to have the answer to the Reeves mystery.
Always nice to see Molly Parker and Kathleen Robertson in just about anything.
