Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by Dave H — 25 Sep 2008
Affleck hasn't been this good since "Good Will Hunting". Great casting, superb perfs overall and nice production. Slow-paced narrative noir steeped in Hollywood history, mystery and hypotheses.
These hypotheses give some alternate options to "Superman's suicide", but the film cleverly keeps things open, because it isn't really about solving a mystery, it's really about how we always look outside ourselves when the time comes for assigning blame for our failings, when we really should look inside.
