Review of Hollywood Homicide (2003) by Westleigh Q — 12 Jul 2009
Despite having a well-rounded cast, this buddy cop comedy ends up being slow and boring. The plot focuses too much on the personal lives of the two lead characters under the assumption that their wacky off duty lives are actually entertaining (not true).
By the time the movie gets back to the crime aspect you forget who is who or what is going on. It's almost like a lot of little scenes that piece the plot together were omitted and you find yourself always slightly confused as to what is happening.
The only mildly amusing aspect is how the Hollywood lifestyle is constantly mocked, but even then you'll probably only snicker under your breath. Go see Lethal Weapon if you want a good buddy cop movie.
