Review of Hollow Man (2000) by Matt M — 01 Apr 2013
Making use of some incredible and very impressive special effects that make the plot seem realistic, this is the story of a scientist who discovers the formula able to make human beings invisible. It starts as a film with an initial b-movie appeal, but the whole thing becomes a haunting vision Verhoeven-style as the scientist who tests the formula on himself makes the most of his new gained powers to commit a series of crimes.
Admittedly, some aspects of the film are tasteless and silly, but there the claustrophobic tension and helplessness of the characters is handled very well.
