This seems to be the practice run for White Christmas; they found what failed in this film and fixed it for White Christmas. It's enjoyable with great dancing and a disturbingly awesome scene of Bing in blackface, but the music isn't as great and the characters aren't as likeable.
They're not even really developed at all. Not a great film, but a fun piece of escapism from WWII.
