Review of Holiday Inn (1942) by Carolyn "Carrie" S — 04 Dec 2008
This movie melted my heart! I saw it in black and white, but I would have loved to see it in color! I loved LOVED watching Fred Astaire dance. He could have whirled me around the dance floor anytime! What a treat! I loved listening to Bing Crosby sing.
..I loved the girl - Marjorie Reynolds...She was breathtaking...This movie was so good. I wonder if the Holiday Inn chain of hotels came after this movie. I wish they had the idea behind the movie though.
An Inn that is only open on the Holiday's...and a live show! So great!! I adored this movie. I fell in love with it. I pictured my grandma alot and it made me happy! I am sad this generation of people like Fred Astaire, etc.
..are dying off and the mannerisms and such are going out the door. I want my grandma back and old times...but these movies make me feel like its back when you get sucked into them.
