Review of Holiday (1938) by Jackson M — 22 Aug 2014
"Holiday" features all the best qualities of a screwball comedy (namely, the always great chemistry between Grant and Hepburn). However, what separates this comedy from rest - and despite the prototypical ending - is that Cukor tackles the thematics with a melancholic tone that other films within this context would not dare to flirt with.
