Review of Holiday (1938) by Alison P — 23 Aug 2008
I love stories about sticking to your guns even when society calls you unsuccessful for not bringing in money. Katharine Hepburn's character understands that about Cary Grant's character, and that is why he is better off with her than with her sister.
Sticking to one's ideals was apparently not the easiest thing to do in 1938 either. That said, this is a good movie, but not great. Watch it for the leads and the themes, yet this is what it is - a romantic comedy.
