This movie is so much deeper and sharper than it may appear ... the themes of greed and independence, of peer pressure and individualism are so wonderfully explored it thrills and moves me every time and reminds me just how important it is to hold onto the idealism that is your own.

Philip Barry never ever writes a play that is not relevant, no matter what age or class you are. And the line Susan Potter has in the playroom gives me chills every time, especially when you consider this movie was made in 1938.
