Review of Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go (2007) by Ralph W — 19 Jul 2008
A snapshot in the life of a school in England which deals with behaviourally challenged children. This doco doesn't make any judgments on the children or the adults who, with Job-like patience, are entrusted with their care.
There are small triumphs in amongst the tantrums, screaming, spitting and tears and it is these small moments that stay with you. You cannot help but be drawn into the lives of these children and one of the final scenes of young Alex, as he is told he is moving up a class, shows such unfettered joy, that it makes the journey worthwhile.
