Review of Hoffa (1992) by Gisclerc M — 13 Aug 2008
This movieÂ?s subject may be important for americans but here in Europe it isn'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?t so big thing.
Even with all that mob-stuff film is a little bit boring. We don'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?t see the inner side of Jimmy Hoffa (Nicholson), he'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?s just a arguing ruffian who doesn'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?t seem to have any real motives to what he'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?s doing. Hoffa'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?s relationship to his wife and children is also unfortunately mishandled.
Film is at best in scenes where Nicholson and DeVito are together. Those moments are funny and sensitive at the same time. And you shouldn'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?t forget Nicholson'Ã?Â?Ã?Â?s fake nose, which is a sight itself.
