Review of Hocus Pocus (1993) by Billbathwater — 30 Sep 2022
As someone who’s never really been into Halloween themed kids movies this one hits the mark with interesting characters, a decent plot line with the trademark Disney cheesiness and the ability to throw in realistic moments and jokes that adults loved and continue to love to this day.
The three witches really steal the show and are finally interesting villains with evil goals and bathe in their evilness rather than most modern “Oh well they weren’t all bad.” Or “Redeemable at the end of the movie.
” Tropes which lifts all weight from any even slightly mean situation. It’s a breath of fresh air to watch over again every Halloween before I’m reminded of the current state of the Disney/Marvel corporations.
