Review of Hocus Pocus (1993) by Lucas Y — 21 Jul 2010
Pretty much the only Halloween movie I remember watching when I was a kid, and usually on TV. It certainly has a "made for TV" feel: the acting is quite mediocre (especially considering it has Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker, who are not too bad normally) and the story is simply "OK".
It is, however, a decent kid's movie and its target audience will enjoy it. I still like watching it on Halloween, in the similar vein of watching the much, much better holiday film "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas.
