It was just so ridiculous and over-the-top...IT WAS AWESOME!!! Sure, it doesn't make perfect sense, but MAN is it FUN!!!! The excessive sadism of this movie is thoroughly enjoyable. Also, it has a surprising amount of depth for a grindhouse film.
The speech the hobo makes to the babies at the maternity ward is so beautiful and touching, it's painful (in a good way).
