Review of Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) by Kenneth D — 01 Oct 2012
Hobo With a Shotgun is so bloody, so grotesque, and so despicable, it was enjoyable (in a sadistic way). The hobo stands as justice and taking it to the barrel of a gun taking out crime in a hell hole of s town.
This movie is disgusting, graphic and sick showing us strong graphic images of dismemberment, bloodshed and violence. The movie has a pretty well done performance by Rutger Hauer as the Hobo. The villain is awful and you hate him so when we see people being killed in the worst ways possible you can't wait to see these guys take a big old kick in the ass.
Is this movie perfect? No. Is this the best grindhouse movie? No. But is there anything good in this? Yeah. It is honestly those really sick and fucked up movies where it can be enjoyed if you're into the most vile forms of entertainment.
If I tried to watch this when I was a kid I would have been horrified by this. But when I grew up I was accepting the more sick and twisted films so this is ok to me even when i'm still feeling ill at the images being shown at me.
I laughed a bit at some parts too. But this isn't that great but it was not awful.
