Although the picture feels like a TV picture at times, this is still a good descent film. Anthony Hopkins doesn't look like the man himself but I felt he got Hitchcock's body mannerisms somewhat right and his creepy sexual innnuendo talk Hitchcock was publicly known for.

Helen Mirren puts in a fine performance as Hitch's wife Alma who understands that living with someone who is considered famous is not always easy but rather difficult to tolerate. The whole picture is really about Hitch's insecurity and jealous feelings, particularly towards his wife Alma.

Then it turns into not a love story but a collaboration piece where husband and wife come together and know what is best for them overall. Completing "Psycho". Pretty annoyed with the dream scenes (Hitch's so called conscience, creepy, haunting male comes into play) because I absolutely felt it was not needed in the picture and I was also hoping this film would have focused more in the production of the movie "Psycho" but instead the film just shows a taste of the actual shooting.

It would have been nice to hear Hopkins mentioned a line to Janet Leigh (Scarlett Johansson) or Vera Miles (Jessica Biel) saying "Well you know girls...All breasts sags eventually". I think if the real Hitchcock were alive to hear Hopkins say such words, he probably would have say.

.."Delightful".
