Review of Hitchcock (2012) by Steven R — 10 Aug 2013
This film was an enjoyable view into the creation of Hitchcock's greatest film, "Psycho". I appreciated the focus on Alma and Hitch's relationship as a central plot. Alma was the driving force behind Hitch's career and it was refreshing to see this turbulent, honest view of the relationship.
Hitch's obsession with "blondes" challenged the relationship but Alma proved her dedication no matter how difficult. In a way this film could be classified as a true love story. The hallucinations with Ed Gein were unnecessary and more of a distraction than a supplement to the plot.
Also it might have been a bit over the top to suggest that Hitch himself had a peephole similar to the one belonging to Norman Bates in "Psycho". Loved the toilet references! Overall good movie!
