Review of Hitchcock (2012) by Dave L — 18 Apr 2013
This charming film is an enjoyable look at the man behind the scenes of Psycho. Perhaps most noted is that the story moves out of the making of Psycho to perhaps more prominently focus on the relationship between his wife Alma, a vision of the film that carries to the end.
While some critics wanted the focus back on the iconic shower scene, the film is content to bandy around the outside narrative. Hopkins gives a good run at the quirks of the man himself, but Mirren is perhaps even more worthy of note.
There are more than enough moments in this film to leave you with a smile on your face at it's enjoyable finish.
