Review of Hitchcock (2012) by Sara T — 31 May 2013
I have an obsession with Mr. Alfred Hitchcock and also with Mr. Anthony Hopkins. As Norman Bates let his Mother become him, Anthony Hopkins did the same with Alfred Hitchcock. I almost forgot it was Hopkins at all.
Maybe that attitude rubbed off on the actors around him because it almost seemed like a behind the scenes documentary rather than a biopic. James D'Arcy pinned the tail on the donkey with his character as Anthony Perkins playing as Norman Bates.
With such an iconic character, I was crossing my fingers and hoping that they would get a man that played and looked like him. They did. I was satisfied. Even Scarlett Johansson played Janet Leigh very well.
Although she isn't a true likeness, she embodied a woman's concerns and sweetness as an actress would have had in the early 60's. Well done! This was a great movie!
