Review of Hitchcock (2012) by Cullen S — 12 Jun 2013
This movie mostly served as a reminder of why Anthony Hopkins is still in the business. No, he doesn't look a ton like Alfred himself, but his mannerisms and voice were extremely convincing, and he could be very amusing or saddening at different times in the movie.
His interactions with Mirren were genius as well. They probably occurred in real life nothing like they are portrayed in this movie, but we're past that as an audience.
And finally: Scarlett Johansson. I think moviegoers have collectively begun to respect her as a serious actress (as she has deserved), and she is a dead ringer for Janet Leigh.
Well worth the time spent watching. Especially if you are a Hitchcock fan.
