Review of Hitchcock (2012) by Ronald N — 11 May 2013
Behind an icon, there is a story. Here we witness a mind legendary, a revolutionary style, an extraordinary woman. "Hitchcock" tells the story behind the creation of the masterpiece "Psycho": all that had to deal Hitch to make his wish come true; however, I'm not the only person who wasn't satisfied by the plot which brings a highly not anticipated approach to show the contribution of Hitch's wife on his career, that's it seems to me good, but the focus of the direction and screenplay aren't well-crafted as it should be the transcendental 's biopic: the creation of the masterpiece.
The Hollywood scenarios of the '60s are well constructed, and their references are fine, but suffers from some inconsistency when it work with what provides the plot, having a lack of truly insightful retrospection.
But not everything is bad, the casting gives the best performance and representation of the character they have on their role. It is not doing Hitchcock Hopkins, is he being Hitchcock, his performance is very fantastic and Mirren giving the best of herself in the role of the sly Alma, showing a compelling love to Hitch; it is noteworthy good effort to Johansson as the women Leigh who acted in "Psycho".
Is not the best biopic that is given in tribute to the cunning director, but "Hitchcock" dazzles in beautiful scenery, makeup and especially performances that make this film an enjoyable experience for all audiences.
