Review of Hit the Deck (1955) by Michael T — 30 Jun 2017
For some odd reason, MGM chose this adaptation of the 1927 stage hit as its final "all-star" musical - only Vic Damone, Russ Tamblyn and Debbie Reynolds would return to the studio for musical roles in the following years.
Despite a melodic score ("Hallelujah," "More Than You Know," "I Know That You Know," "Sometimes I'm Happy"), the plot is bland.
