Review of Hit & Run (2012) by Russ G — 31 Aug 2012
I don't even know where to start with this movie. The plot which could have been something... but died in infancy... the tom arnold gay sideshow... that was more about a proximity app... than funny... or that everyone instantly confesses their embarrassment... This movie is just plain awful. I have to admit Dax and Kristen are believable as a couple with some challenges, but Cooper as a dread-lock wearing former bank robber named Dimitri... come on...
Dax... man, dude, there is so much bad dialog... I should come over to your house and slap your face, ala Stewie Griffin, for those jokes... "I think of the asian race as a bunch of women"... ??? really? There were a hundred way that the exchange about the jail ass rape would have been funnier... but you went with the long drawn out awkward route that just fell off a cliff... I mean you really could have had fun with the hillbilly that stole the engine, but hillbillies in CA? I mean did they travel to LA, from Northern CA, by way for Kentucky?
This movie is just a series of disconnected scenes. Each try to inject some humor but just don't make the cut. The flow is jerky and improbable which makes it more of a cartoon when anvils fall from the sky then a story that's both romantic and funny... Its a the high school stoner's senior project at hollywood high... entertaining for free, but insulting when you have to pay.
