Review of Hit & Run (2012) by Tom R — 05 Mar 2013
(4 Stars) I'm a little bemused why Hit & Run is receiving so many lukewarm reviews. I think it's funny, thrilling, and a better romance movie than most romantic comedies. The direction is stylish and the cars in the movie are awesome.
.. and I'm not even a car guy. I actually believe the relationship between Charlie Bronson (Dax Shepard) and Annie (Kristen Bell). They're both likable and I want to see them succeed. It's a road film that feels like a 70's B-movie with its muscle car chases, soundtrack, and ridiculous situations that are sometimes unlikely, but somehow works in the 70's.
And Tom Arnold is actually funny! I think the last time I laughed at him was in True Lies. Hit & Run is the type of movie that's criminally underseen, but it deserves a cult following. Take a chance on it; I'm glad I did.
