Review of History of the World: Part I (1981) by Jonathan A — 25 Jan 2008
Mel Brooks parodies campy cavemen flicks, swords and sandals epics and costume dramas in this satire on modern history. About as raunchy as "Blazing Saddles", and more gross-out humor than he usually does.
There's lots to laugh at in this one as every sketch contains great moments of his comic genius. And what a better way to top things off with "Jews In Space"? When you're Mel "it's good to be the king".
(Sorry, I couldn't resist...).
