Review of History of the World: Part I (1981) by Terry E — 03 Feb 2009
One of those movies that you forget about then run into on Sky and you sit there and realise, actually this is a great movie. A host of stars appear, some on screen for only seconds, and political correctness goes out of the window so fast that you can hear the scream as it disappears.
Any film that starts with the ascent of man, and his finding out how to look after things, through to the French Revolution where 'its good to be the king' with trips to Rome, Judea and the Spanish inquisition in between can't be beaten.
The only regret was that Part II was never made. Hitler on Ice, Jews in Space, how awesome would they have been?
One to add to your DVD collection and take out every so often when the weather is bad and you need cheering up.
