Review of History of the World: Part I (1981) by Mike E — 07 Dec 2017
Oh dear. The Mel Brooks of The Producers and Young Frankenstein has really come a cropper with this woefully unfunny, rather tawdry and poorly assembled mess. Even Brooks stalwarts like Harvey Korman and Madeline Kahn cannot mine the awful script for laughs.
His decision to cast himself in all the key roles demonstrates the vanity of this project. Lazy and self-indulgent.
