Review of His Kind of Woman (1951) by Jo Y — 12 Aug 2007
Film is about 30 minutes too long, isn't really hard-boiled enough for a film noir (although it does have noir aspects in terms of lighting), and the lead actors play characters who aren't very well developed and are mostly uninteresting.
So why the 4-star rating? Two words: Vincent Price. His performance in a supporting role is simply the funniest role I have ever seen in a film - anytime, anywhere. Has to be seen to be believed. If ever one actor saved a film from mediocrity, this performance is it.
