Review of His Girl Friday (1940) by Christopher S — 12 Feb 2012
An excellent film with great dialogue between Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. The dialogue goes too fast some times but it was great drama and comedy. It did make me wonder if women were accepted in the newspaper business like Hildy Johnson was.
She treated like one of the boys and there were zero hints of animosity and sexual harassment. Wonderful directing by Howard Hawks. The pacing made for a fast 90 minutes, which is always great. One of Cary Grant's finer works and definitely Rosalind Russell's best work besides Auntie Mame.
