The thing that really makes this film pop was the chemistry and competition between Grant and Russell. Much of the film is adlibbed and was encouraged by Hawks. The best scene is when they're in the bar sitting around the table.

..the entire scene was shot in one take and is 90% adlib. Brilliant!
