I watched this earlier this year, and after watching it I knew I needed a rewatch. This is the kind of film you might want to rewatch a few times to "get it" - because I didn't completely catch on.
As for "new wave", gotta agree with Evan, this is a lot different than the 'new wave' we've all come to know through Bresson, Goddard, and Truffaut. A lot more serious I thought.
