Review of Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) by Jason C — 31 Mar 2008
I read a lot of reviews of this film before I actually watched it and was prepared to be disappointed by the second half. But I wasn't at all. I don't know how you can watch a film set in Hiroshima and not see it as an allegory of all the many ways that humans collide and reel and recover.
And to expect something linear is to court disappointment. I just loved it. So small and so grand, so sad and so lovely.
