Review of Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) by Andi C — 12 Feb 2012
Highly recommend this beautiful but quite grueling film! Duras 's writing is pure genius here, and this film marks the Nouvelle Vague movement that directors such as J-L Godard run with come the 1960s.
..Is now one of my favorite films of all time..."you are not endowed with memory..." classic line and the film's thesis--hiroshima as a place that needs to remember but wants to forget, and a place where others remember but cannot understand.
