Review of Hillsong: Let Hope Rise (2016) by William K — 16 Sep 2016
As a Christian, who goes to Hillsong church, and a filmmaker who has seen some evangelical movies only targeted to just Christians and those who failed to hit the mark on capturing a bigger audience than just Christians.
Hillsong - Let Hope Rise goes beyond the congregation alone and stretches out it's reach to a wider audience with it's powerful stories of the band individually and as a whole. Full of faith and full of passion as musicians, the band members of Hillsong UNITED acknowledges that their not in it for the notoriety, fame, or recognition which shows their hearts are doing what they do for one purpose and one purpose only.
To spread the love of God around the world. True evangelism at it's finest. With compelling stories shared from each worship leader, from humble beginnings, to the harshest of times, to the greatest of accomplishments and blessings.
This documentary hits it's mark and will for sure impact and touch the lives of all who see it. Whether your Christian or not, you'll be touched in one way or another and walk out of the theater full of hope.
One of the best documentaries I've seen by far. Not a biased opinion here. I truly mean it when I say it. Definitely one for you alone, you and your family, or you and your friends to see together.
